February 2010
At Garsington School we have had a very busy couple of months.
We hope everyone had a good Christmas and wish you a very happy and healthy 2010.
Our Christmas Crafts and Cake sale organised by FOGS was a great start to the festive season. The children in KS1 performed their nativity play 'Gold, Fankincense and Myrrh'. With some great songs and costumes, it was enjoyed by everyone taking part and watching.
Thank you to those of you who joined us for our senior citizen carol service. It was lovely to see so many of you here at school.
The start to the new school term was extremely frustrating for all of us and despite our collective endeavours unfortunately we had to close for a few days due to the snow. Paula Smith (our caretaker), her son Ben and numerous parents and governors spent many hours clearing the pathways in and around school. A big thank you to them all for braving the conditions and making the school site as safe as possible for pedestrians. The indomitable Garsington School community spirit once again pulled together in different ways to provide care and support.
We are now looking forward to the spring and would like to remind you of our 'Easter Extravaganza' to be held on Saturday 27th March. This event has replaced the Autumn Fayre but will still have the usual stalls, raffle and refreshments. Everyone is welcome when the fun begins at 1pm, we look forward to seeing you there.
