As we approached Christmas, we had thought the tower with its ugly scaffold should not this year be flood-lit.

But a couple of generous sponsors, wanting to see it cheer us during these gloomy months, gave their usual donations and so it will have been floodlit between the start of Advent in early December and the feast of Candlemas in early February, lit specifically on some nights to mark personally important anniversaries.

If you have appreciated the tower’s cheering effect as a beacon of light, do please consider giving the church a retrospective donation and let me know if you would like your name to be published in the next Newsletter. If you would like its illumination to mark anniversaries in future months, please let me know the dates. The going rate is £10 for a single night or £40 for a week but less is more if that is what you feel able to give.
