Many of you will have noticed that the Village Hall was festooned with bunting on Saturday 25th April. This was to celebrate reopening the hall following the installation of a new kitchen and disabled loo.
Gillie King and other members of the committee organised a very successful and enjoyable day to mark the occasion. In the afternoon there were events for the children, including a juggler and face painting.
We had our first opportunity to make use of the new hatch from the kitchen which made serving teas much easier and safer. There was a very gratifying turnout of about 25 children with accompanying adults who all seemed to have an enjoyable time. We were pleased to greet Councillor Colin Daukes of South Oxfordshire District Council who dropped in for a few minutes and Lynne Newin from the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council, who had provided a great deal of advice.

In the evening we held a drinks reception attended by Councillor Malcolm Leonard, Vice Chairman of South Oxfordshire Council who gave a short speech and judged the mug painting competition from earlier in the day.
It was wonderful to see so many people in the evening, especially those who have had a great deal to do with the hall in past years. Everyone was impressed and delighted by the kitchen and agreed that the improvements will help to ensure that the hall will continue to be in use for many years to come.

My thanks to all those who worked hard to make the day so enjoyable.
Particular thanks to those whose grants and donations made the work possible:
