There is still no decision on the application for the development of the site at Dovehouse farm.
The District Council's planning officer has written to Savills, the developers, about his concerns over the shortcomings of the scheme, but Savills have not yet responded to his letter.
The planning officer feels that Savills have not made their case well, and that the proposal is a poor scheme with a number of shortcomings.
In particular, he does not feel that the case has been made strongly enough for the development to be allowed because it includes conversion of existing buildings as well as building new ones, when it would not have been permitted if it only had new buildings, because of the unsustainable nature of the village (no shops, school, etc).
Access is also a major issue and the County Council's Highways Department have still not expressed their opinion.
