The proposed development at Dovehouse Farm was presented at December’s meeting by a representative from Savills, who are the agents for the site.

Several members of the public attended and there was considerable discussion about the development. The proposal is for eight dwellings, three of which will be affordable housing, and there will also be some offices. In the first instance, the affordable housing will be offered to people with local connections. It was Savills intention to submit the planning application to the District Council in January.

There is now a dog bin at the start of the footpath next to Parkside. Please will dog owners put their dog mess in the bin, and also use the bin next to the Village Hall if your dog makes a mess on the Recreation Ground or on the roads nearby, such as in the High Street.

The carols round the Christmas Tree were very well attended, despite it being a very cold evening. Many thanks to Jean Gardner for her usual efficient management of the mince pies and mulled wine. Also thanks to Kathy and Keith Hawley for preparing the mulled wine.

The Parish Council asked the County Council if it would be possible to have a 50mph speed limit between Coombe Wood and Cuddesdon, but the County Council said that this stretch of road satisfies none of the required criteria, such as there having been any injury collisions or it being in a built up area.

The precept (the amount of money the Parish Council receives) is going to be unchanged in the next financial year starting in April, so the contribution from the local rates will stay the same.
