There is a new planning application (P10/W0085) for the replacement of an existing extension at Hill House on Denton Hill.

The applicant, Peter Rutt, attended February’s meeting to explain the plans and the Parish Council decided that they had no objections to the application.

The planning application for the development at Dovehouse has been submitted by Savills, the agents, to the District Council, although at the time of writing it has not been published. It is proposed that the listed barn on the site is converted to offices. However, Savills have suggested that if the offices are not let then they may later be made into living accommodation. The Parish Council is eager to find out what sort of dwellings they would be, and how many are proposed.

There is a map on the County Council’s website which shows the roads which are gritted in icy weather (go to www.oxfordshire.gov.uk and click on “road salting”). The roads between Wheatley, Garsington and Horspath are defined as priority two roads, which means the are not necessarily gritted, and the Parish Council has asked for Ladder Hill to be upgraded to priority one so it always gritted when the weather is bad and there is a safe way out of the village.

For a while now, there has been discussion about refurbishment of Cuddesdon Green. It should be the focal point of the village and it is looking rather dilapidated. If you have any views about what should be done then please send an e-mail using the contact link on the website, talk to one of the Parish Councillors or let me know. The Parish Council intend to do the refurbishment soon and everybody’s views are important.

The tree at the top of Denton hill which was interfering with the telephone wires has now been pruned.
