Elections for the Parish Council are held every four years and the next one for us is on 5th May
(which will most likely be the day when there is a referendum on the AV voting system as well). So now is your opportunity to stand as a parish councillor, and influence what happens in the local community. I have some nomination packs with forms you have to fill in if you want to stand, and these packs can also be obtained from the District Council. The closing date for submission of nomination papers to the District Council is 4th April. If you have any questions about the process then I will be pleased to try to help.
Two appeals have been made against planning applications which had been refused by the District Council. One is for the first storey extension at 8 Bishop’s Wood (P10/W1558), and the other is for the single storey extension at 16 Denton Hill (P10/W1420).

The Parish Council is opposed to this particularly because of the narrowness of our local roads, and have asked the County Council to reconsider in our area. All the verges within the village will continue to be cut, because this is financed by the Parish Council itself.
However, the County Council have agreed to prune the trees at Coombe Wood which are making it difficult to have a clear view to the right when pulling out from the T junction.
For the past year, Thames Valley Primary Care Agency have been considering whether a pharmacy should be allowed at Wheatley Surgery as well as a dispensary and have decided against this, largely because there is already a pharmacy at the chemist nearby.
