The neighbourhood police have found that their method of communicating with local communities has not been very successful in rural areas.
So instead they will now be attending parish council meetings. It is unlikely that they will attend ours every month but hopefully they will come fairly regularly. This will be an opportunity for local residents to come to the meeting and discuss any issues they have with the police and find out what is going on in the area.
I will publicise when the police are going to attend by putting a notice on the notice board, by putting information on the website, and by telling the parish councillors, although I doubt if there will be enough notice to let you know through the Newsletter.
The Parish Council has recommended approval of planning applications for a second storey extension at 8 Bishop’s Wood (P11/W0955), for the building of a garden room at Manor Farm House (P11/W1333 and P11/W1335/LB), for a kitchen extension at 3 Bishop’s Wood (P11/W1350) and to have a pitched roof fitted to the garage at 2 Bishop’s Wood (P11/W1103). Approval has also been recommended for listed building consent for the fitting of internal secondary glazing and installation of a biomass boiler at Denton House (P11/W0904/LB and P11/W1015/LB).
The District Council has since granted the planning applications for 2 and 8 Bishop’s Wood, and for the double glazing at Denton House. The application for a loft conversion at 3 Church Close (P11/W0724) has been withdrawn.
Occasionally, cars are parked at The Green at its narrower end nearer to the church. When this happens it is difficult for agricultural vehicles and other large vehicles to get by without driving over the verge. So, to avoid damage to our verges, please do not park in this narrow part of the road.
Mike Mount
Parish Clerk
