Each year the Parish Council discusses whether the ticket price for the fireworks should be increased but it is always concluded that the price should be kept at its present level even though we usually makes a loss, because it is an important village event.
But this year it was very well attended, with 240 tickets sold, and it made a profit. In no small part this is because Martin Smith supplies the food free of charge and again we are indebted to him and his staff at the Bat and Ball. The Parish Councillors would also like to thank everyone who helped them on the night including Gill and David Allen, Gary Gray, Keith Hawley, Colin Hessey, Stuart Lacey’s sons, Graham Sellar, Susan Thomson and anyone else I have forgotten.
The District Council have granted the listed building consent for installation of a biomass boiler at Denton House (P11/W1015/LB), the application for a garden room at Manor Farm House (P11/W1333 and P11/W1335/LB) has been withdrawn, and there is a new application for a two storey side extension at 15 Denton Hill (P11/W1713).
There has been some dog fouling on the recreation ground. Please remember to clean up after your dog and please do not allow your dog to roam on the recreation ground unattended. It is important to keep the recreation ground free of dog mess, particularly because children play there.
Work has recently been done to some of the trees in the village. A loose branch high in the horse chestnut on Cuddesdon Green has been removed, and some of its lower branches have been pruned. Also some old plum trees on Denton Green near the brook have been removed because they were in poor condition and some of their branches were breaking off. A cherry tree nearby was also felled because its roots risked damaging the foundations of the house next to it.

Parish Clerk
