The village’s website is now operational at www.cuddesdonanddenton.org. It only started up recently and will expand with time, hopefully with the help of contributions from anyone who is interested. If you would like to contribute then please use the contact link on the website’s home page. Anything you want included will always be welcome, whether it is news, comment, information about a village organisation, something you want to advertise for sale or to buy, or anything else.
The new waste collection service starts on 8th June and there is a link from the village website where more information about this can be found. Each household will have several bins, for food, recycling and other waste. The new bins will be delivered during the first two weeks of April. The collection day in some parishes is changing, but in Cuddesdon and Denton it is staying the same. There is a planning application to build a two storey extension at 44 High Street (P09/W0087). The Parish Council is opposed to this, not because of the extension itself which they think is acceptable, but because there is a proposal to widen the entrance to the property which will reduce the available parking on the High Street and detract from the character of the area.
The police have advised that one of the big issues in our region is the theft of motor vehicles and number plates. Older hatchbacks are particularly being targeted, because they have less security.
At the end of February there was a meeting with some of the residents living near Denton Green about the trees in that area. It was agreed that a number would be pruned, but there is still discussion about the only tree which it is felt needs to be felled because it is unsafe. Understandably, some residents would be sorry to see it go.
