The Parish Plan survey showed that there is concern in the village about potential traffic accidents, particularly coming into the village at Parkside and at the junction of Wheatley Road with Church Road, at the corner next to the high wall.
A representative from the County Council’s Highways Department is coming to see the problems and recommend whether any additional road markings would slow the traffic and make things safer.
The latest application for the extension at 44 High Street (P09/W0331) has been approved by the District Council.
The same contractor is cutting the grass again this year, but he is taking more care over cutting the Recreation Ground. The grass is being cut shorter, and twice so far this year he has done a cut and collect, where the cuttings are removed, but which costs more. In general this means that less cuttings are left on the ground. Hopefully you think the grass is in better condition than it has been, particularly for playing football and other ball games, but if you want more done then please let me know.
I would like to remind you about the CADET fund which was set up some time ago. The fund is solely made up of donations, and it is for the transport of people to see their doctor or to go to hospital. If you have difficulty making such journeys then please contact me and I will provide the money to make sure you can get there.
