CUDDESDON AND DENTON PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

2nd June 2009 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall

49 MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

The minutes of the last meeting were approved.


50 MATTERS ARISING

50.1 Planning
• It was agreed that MM should invite each planning applicant to attend a Parish Council meeting to assist the council with forming a view on the application. Action: MM
• OCC had written to say that they had insufficient resource to attend a Parish Council meeting to discuss how their highways decisions were made with regard to planning applications.
• SODC had sent a document which explained how a parish plan could be used to influence a planning decision.
• Since neither OCC or SODC were willing to attend a meeting, it was agreed that MM should write to them to endeavour to learn more about their decision making processes.
  Action: MM

50.2 Cuddesdon Green
• Four councillors and some members of the public had attended a meeting with Dominic Green of SODC to discuss changes to The Green.
• It was agreed that an OCC expert should be asked to a meeting provided he could make a useful contribution. Action: MM
• KH suggested that John Paxton should be asked for his view. Action: MM

50.3 Trees
Chris Gamblin had quoted £650 for the felling and pruning. He would be doing the work during June.

50.4 Basketball Fund
KH reported that the Youth Club had not advised what the revised costs now were. DK and NK agreed to liaise with the Youth Club to try to get the project under way. Action: DK and NK

50.5 Parish Plan
Discussion about the Parish Plan with village organisations was taking place on 14th July.
 
50.6 Road Markings
Malcolm Bowler of OCC was responsible for road markings. It was agreed to ask him to a meeting to discuss additional markings at hazardous locations. Action: MM

50.7 Sewage Smell
Mr O’Shea had written to advise that the poor drains causing the sewage smell at Chippinghurst would be corrected in the coming month.

50.8 Youth Club
MP said he would be contacting Fusion during June to discuss supervision for the Youth Club.
 Action: MP

50.9 High Street Verge
OCC had confirmed that they were responsible for the verges. They would like to see an outline of the proposal. They could not give financial support. DK agreed to draft a proposal.
 Action: DK

50.10 Next Meeting
It was agreed that the next meeting would be on 30th June rather than 7th July.

51 FINANCE

51.1 Payments
Berinsfield Grass cutting March and April £748.88
W Sellar CADET £7.00

51.2 Receipt
OCC Grass cutting grant £1055.34

51.2 Internal Audit
The books had been sent to the internal auditor.

52 PARISH COUNCILLORS’ REPORTS

DK: Repair of the surface around the climbing frame had been arranged to take place during June.

NK: A stop cock cover was missing on the Wheatley Road. Action: MM


LW Berinsfield needed to be advised not to strim close to trees. Action: MM

 There had been some thefts from the churchyard.

CS: There needed to be a path down the slope at the entrance to the Recreation Ground. It was agreed to investigate this further once the earth had been moved from the basketball pitch.

MP The fete had raised £5300.

A police report at a recent Neighbourhood Watch meeting had revealed that the village was the eleventh least affected by crime of the 36 villages in the area.

53 RoSPA INSPECTION
It was agreed that an inspection of the play area equipment should take place during July.
